Epigenetic regulation of epithelial-mesenchymal transition
Epithelia-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is implicated carcinoma cell identity shifts on epigenetic alteration. TGFb signaling regulating the histone methyltransferase SUV420H2 and its product histone H4 lysine 20 methylation (H4K20me3) play an important role in suppressing EMT plasticity and preventing breast cancer cell invasion.
Transcriptional regulation
Gene regulation plays a vital role in cellular functions and response to environmental perturbations. Cis-regulatroy sequences could control the dynamics of gene transcriptional regulation. We combine analysis of molecular evolution, gene expression and bioinformatics to understand how transcriptional dynamics in yeast affects their phenotypic consequences and responds environmental perturbations.
